The major stages in the career development of gifted, talented, talented, and creative adults, according to Barbara Kerr,  are: resolving multpotentiality; finding a mentor, support, and advanced training; and attaining and maintaining productivity. 

 Multipotential adults are those multi-talented adults who have multiple interests and abilities, have asynchronous development; are equally talented across many diverse subject areas, and who have multiple career interests, aspirations and achievements.

My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. 

 

She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done that best that is in you.  Success is being praised by others, and that's nice, too, but not as important or satisfying.
